Cathay Pacific has been named Airline of the Year 2009 in the World Airline Awards run by the London-based Skytrax research organization - the third time it has taken the honour in the past 10 years. The airline was also named Best Airline Asia in 2009. It was also named the Airline of the Year for three consecutive years from 2006 - 2008 at the TTG Travel Awards

Cathay Pacific is also a founder member of the oneworld alliance. There are 10 member airlines: American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, Finnair, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév Hungarian Airlines, Qantas and Royal Jordanian & Dragonair. Together, we have a combined network of almost 700 destinations.

Finlays has acted as General Sales Agent for Cathay Pacific Airways since operations to Sri Lanka began in 1993. Back then flights were operated by the Lockheed L1011 (Tristar) on a twice weekly basis. Today the airline operates state of the art Boeing 777 aircraft with daily services to Hong Kong, providing unrivalled capacity between Colombo and its hub.
